Niall Ferguson Is Firmly in the Pre-Emption Camp

Harvard's Niall Ferguson, author of "Empire" and "Colossus," has come down firmly on the side of pre-empting Iran's nuclear ambitions:

Somehow, I recall reading that Ferguson and the Neocons had had a falling out. But the essay argues for pre-emptive war. Would this keep him in a fellow traveler status, then? Mind you, I don't disagree with the essay's sentiments...I'm just trying to keep my score card up to date.

Such a bleak outlook on the future,
but I don't think we'll wait until 2007 to strike Iran..
I'm thinking that the 'Ides of March' will acquire a whole new meaning.
