Heroes

I've written a new post over at WindsofChange.net, which manages to incorporate the NBC show Heroes, Frodo of Lord of the Rings, and Robert E. Lee. See what you think.

Frodo, and Robert E. Lee ? I will go there immediately, as I'm suddenly extremely curious how you wire THAT pair together.

Ya know, if Pickett had been carrying the One Ring at Gettysburg, he probably could have infiltrated his division right into Hancock's position, and adios muchachoed the Yankees.

Hmmmm, I guess Sherman could be Gollum...

All joking aside, sounds interesting and will read.

I liked your piece, and I think your analysis about the moral calculus that goes into the use of special power could be extended to institutions -- and the decision making process of military and political leaders as to when and how to employ their "special powers" as well. I'm thinking, in historical terms, of, say, the British Royal Navy and the German Army. It's also, for obvious reasons, worth thinking about in the US context.
