Second Lieutenant Booth and Senator Kerry

Yesterday Senator Kerry insulted those in uniform. But the day before yesterday he called the parents of Marine Second Lieutenant Joshua Booth, killed in action in Iraq earlier this month, to offer his condolences. His mother explains:

Second Lt. Joshua Booth died on Oct. 17. His mother said that what makes Kerry's words so offensive is that they come one day after Kerry called the family to offer condolences.

"We did appreciate the call. I am appreciative of anyone who reaches out to me and to then turn around and say something that is so totally incorrect," Booth said.

As to whether Kerry should apologize, Booth said that Kerry needs to do more to make amends.

"In addition to apologizing, he needs to learn a little bit about what our men and women in the military are actually made up of," Booth said. "We don't want to send that kind of signal, that you only go into the military if you are not good at anything."

So was Lieutenant Booth good at anything?

You decide. Last week National Public Radio did a segment about him and it can be heard in its entirety here.

Kerry was talking about Bush. He was not insulting the troops, he was insulting Bush.

M.A.

That's what I'd say too.

Posted by: Chester at October 31, 2006 9:37 PM

Though he's not very convincing.

I've just added a new post on this topic.

Let's see, "If you don't do your homework and study hard, you wind up in the White House". Hmmm, no, I don't think so.

Either he's so friggin' stupid he didn't think his 'joke' through, or it was another of his moments of the mask slipping again. I tend to think the latter.

I don't take much notice of political scandals because they're almost always blown out of all proportion, if not outright manufactured or contrived. They're an example of opportunism at its worst where one person of dubious moral character impugns someone else of dubious moral character.

In this case the scandal isn't what Kerry said, but that anyone has the nerve to act surprised. Bears shit in the woods and loony-left nutjobs despise the military. In other news water is wet and the sky is blue.

Asking Kerry for an apology is an insult to anyone with a triple digit IQ. How does it help the country to ask John Kerry to lie about what he feels and believes? He's a dyed in the wool anti-american leftist. Asking him to apologize the men and women in our nation's military is like asking Hezbollah to apologize for killing Israelis.

I think it is good that attention is being called to this because it is a demonstration of his character, but please don't insult me with faux surprise and imaginary outrage. Anyone who is truly surprised has been living in a cave for the past few years, and anyone who is truly outraged has anger management issues.

We should be thanking Kerry for demonstrating once again what a leftist elitist asshat he is, lest someone forget.

I don't think I'd ask Kerry to apologize, but 2ndLt Booth's mother seems to think otherwise.

...Rrrriiiiiiggggghhhhtt

Funny thing though....the Bush name was not even mentioned during his joke or in the surrounding paragraphs. Seems to me the STOOPID people are democrats who continue to be anti-American, anti-troop, and feel the need to carry water for the worst human excrement their political party has to offer. For shame. Chester must have been on the receiving end of the genghis khan's when they turned up the power on those little karachas of his. I'm going to vote and taking a car load of friends... The Republican Hordes are coming to vote....beware you loser libs!!!

Whoa boys. You may be mistaking M.A.'s comment for my own. Or my sarcasm for an actual agreement with him.

Ah... I see that makes it all better doesn't it? Insult the Commander-in-Chief and show all due respect for those with their lives on the line.

Sorry I don't, and will never buy, that load of crapola. But the Loonbats of the [Dim]ocrat Party own the patent on the type of thinking.

On election day, please don't let the face of the Democrat Party, John F. Kerry "Reporting For Duty", slip your mind. With Murtha and Bagdad Bob in the house and Kerry, Kennedy, and Schummer in the senate, the altenative is too dire. For the sake of the troops, we must elect Republicans. I am optimistic that we'll gain five in the house, and another 3 in the Senate. God bless this great country.

Kerry does owe a big apology! Historically, he slammed Vietnam Vets (Ghengis Khan analogy), talked trash a year ago--accusing soldiers of terrorizing Iraqi's, and now this. Apologists for Kerry can say whatever they wish...But his latest gaffe speaks volumes about his arrogance and his elitist personna. Kerry apologize?! What a joke...he's too full of himself....

Kerry's from the left, his distain for the military is reflexive

Posted by: Anthony Caputo at November 1, 2006 8:47 AM

Kerry's so-called "explanation" might be easier to accept if he hadn't been making it a habit to insult the American military since 1971 when he defamed our troops in Vietnam in front of the U.S. Congress.

He is an elitist p.o.s. and deserves NO EXCUSES for his rude and insulting words.

John Kerry is a coward; Second Lt. Joshua Booth is a hero...a coward dies a thousand and one deaths; a hero dies once.

I listened to the NPR piece...yeah, right, all those over in Iraq are educational dropouts! That is one of the most malicious slanders I have ever heard. And more than anything, Kerry's rather casual comment vindicates the judgement of American voters two years ago.

May God comfort the family and friends of Joshua Booth, and to Joshua Booth, Requiem Eternum.
