The Next War in Gaza

Just on the heels of this piece in the WSJ, this analysis by Westhawk, and this commentary by Belmont Club, comes this news report: Israel Preparing Extensive Gaza Operation.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert warned that the army was preparing an extensive operation in the Gaza Strip, with the government to make a decision on the offensive within days, an MP has said.

"The army is preparing for an even more extensive operation in the Gaza Strip," the prime minister was quoted by the source as telling parliament's defence and foreign affairs committee.

"The government intends to reach a decision on the exact pattern of the operation in the coming days," Olmert was reported to have said.

Now it gets interesting . . .

Stay tuned.

I don't understand why the Palestinians aren't armed by a few entities. NOT THAT I WANT THAT. But wouldn't a shipment of SAMs and anti-tank missilles put Israel down? Come to think of it, same with us in Iraq.
Is Iran more level-headed than we give them credit for? Couldn't they really cause us and Israel some serious hurt?
