Travel has kept me from writing about what I'd intended today . . . but not to worry, as Westhawk has instead done so. See his piece on Britain's looming insurgency.

Can we be far behind ? We have some of the same cultural issues, a more mobile society, and less of an internal security apparatus.
If I were a betting man, I'd say the appeal of Islam is only going to grow here. I think that people need religion, whatever the atheists say (and atheism, I think, has many of the trappings of religion), and the traditional western answers to religious impulses have been diluted too much by political correctness to be appealing.
Viewed from a marketing perspective, Islam has a good deal to recommend it -- not least that it looks like a winner. Moreover, as time goes on, some will believe it dangerous to oppose it.
