Seems about right . . .

I drove over to the mall to grab a bite to eat this evening.

Of late, the mall has taken to advertising its holiday hours with very large numbers near the traffic entrances.

You know, something just seemed appropriate about seeing this as a sort of symbol of consumerism in America these days:

Perfect catch, Chester, but what also comes to mind is how your irony wouldn't prick even the least bit business-as-usual Europe or much of the world, since they'd only see "October 9."

Different dates, hazy historical landmarks, and willful denial here, there and everywhere.

I am sure there are others. What we need is to gather them all together, bind up any differences, discuss and plan how we are going to defeat and destroy our common ememy.
